For the new collection, I’m working on a cross over between the 16thc and military clothes and camouflage.
Here is the printing session of a traditional historical pattern, pixellized to resemble the digital UCP US camouflage.

Martin Margiela
Tuesday, January 20th, 2009Definitively MOMU wins “best Belgian museum of 2008”: a super Willhelm exhibition, a beautiful Branquinho retrospective and finally the awesome Martin Margiela.
Before it ends, go to see the Maison Martin Margiela retrospective at the MOMU, Fashion Museum of Antwerpen. It runs till the Feb 8th and it’s a MUST.
There’s some REALLY WICKED printing going on, great trompe oeil effects and loads of simple but so clever ideas.
Here are some pics of some of my favourites….
Trompe oeil: Photographes of dresses are printed onto fabric that is then cut out and made up into simple dress.
Here matt sequins are sewn onto an evening jacket, to give a shiny trompe oeil reflection.
Spray painted boots….
Easy and effective! … silk-screened glue onto garment, covered with silver leef, shoved under heat press for a minute and there you go!
