This very nice photography event takes place every 2 years in the pretty region of Condroz.
I particularly admired the work of the british photographer and chemical explorer Matthew Houston’s who displays a series of beautiful, sexy young females in the nude as well as photograms, abstract photos and darkroom experimentations.

Labod’arte Ferrara

Sunday, July 26th, 2015

A 10 day residency/ workshop working with textiles in Ferrare for sessione Labod’arte, hosted at the beautiful Wunderkammer site with a view on the river Po. Nadia, Véronique and Patricia are the main participants with a few interventions by the kids. We worked with a minimum of equipment, sticking to the 3 colours: blue, black and with the following techniques: shibory, bleaching, silkscreening and cyanotype.
The aim was to explore and mix the techniques on a 50x70cm surface using objects from the surrounding to create an image.

Mum’s At Work

Friday, August 29th, 2014

How can a one make art work, when most of the week is dedicated to kids, running the household and working?
So few hours available for studio practice.
And 2 months school holiday makes the whole thing even more complicated and … frustrating…
To overcome this feeling of failure, Anaïck Moriceau and I decided to make a silk-screened poster during our holiday week in Bretagne.
Our days at the seaside with the kids enabled us to collect some materials which we solarised. We gained time by using ready mixed inks which were lying around in the studio. The formula went: concentration + simplicity = efficiency.

So between cups of tea, bathing time, shopping and cooking meals, we managed to get all three screens exposed and printed.

Meanwhile, the kids played, fought and watched a few life-saving cartoons.

……The result is an edition of 10 prints. A composition of coolness and plenitude which reflected “some” of the aspects of our week!!
And every evening by 9PM, we were ready to fall into a heap.
