Cathédrale II

Amiens cathedral has an amazing floor: each section has a different pattern made of +- 20 x 20cm black and white paving. It’s fantastic how many variations are possible.
The floor of the cathedrale is famous for its central pattern: a large paved labyrinth for the prayers to follow round, a sort a meditation path.

Below a few floor patterns found in a French heritage book.

Walter Van Beirendonck celebrates 30 years of fashion design at MOMU Antwerp. I went to see the show with my textile printing students…. and what a treat! The exhibition is fantastic full of Walters’ silhouettes and influences (from Louise Bourgeois to ethnic costume and props).

There is a giant screen with an amazing video of male models dancing and a room set up like Walters’ studio with a video where he shows his scrap books and explains how he does his research. Really cool.

After the visit, we shoot a funny photo of the students from the top floor of the museum.
