Champagne!

Go to a movie in Arena during Pula film festival, and experience the biggest open air cinema ever.
While watching “Metastase” a croatian remake of “Trainspotting” set in Zagabria, we couldn’t help imagining what it must have been like with the gladiators, the lions and the crowd shouting for slaughter.

We just went round to say hello and end up taking an improvised cooking lesson with our friend Guido. He is a good “connaisseur” of fish and used to go apné diving/ fishing.
We cook the branzino and calamari, bought at the market, “ai ferri”: wash well inside and out, push some parsley in pouch, grill, serve with chopped garlic, more parsley and olive oil.

Pula market is really great! Everyday small producers gather on market square to sell. Small stalls with little heaps of local fruit and veg sit next to the larger stalls of the bigger distributors. In the covered market are the fish and meat stalls.
We get some pulpo to make a salad….
