And this is how we spent it….

Note this really cool salad recipe: Fennel and fresh orange finely sliced with spring onions choppped on top and a light dressing of balsamic vinegar and olive oil.
The red stuff is vodka jelly, lethal….
Lentils are traditionaly served at midnight in italy, as they’re supposed to bring money in the new year.
This is the Roman way: spread lentils on tray & check for small stones.
Put in sieve and rince under runing water. Drain.
Put in large saucepan with 1 large carrot sliced lengthways, 1 large onion peeled & quartered, 1 stick of celery, 2 bay leaves, 2 tomatoes cut in quarters, 1 clove garlic, salt & pepper + olive oil. Cover with water, to 5c above lentil level, bring to boil then turn back heat and simmer for +- 30m. Check if tender, cook until nearly ready then turn off heat and leave to rest.
