A lesson in Miel Making with Hubert Jean-Petit. This retired school teacher has 70 bee hives scattered around the forests and gardens of the Haut-Doubs. He came round with his equiped truck to have a chat and give us an idea on bee keeping. We have this fantasy with STP to get bee involved, however the garden here seems to be too small to welcome the hives. A roof would be better….

Tuesday, May 10th, 2011We were lucky to be invited by our friend JB to discover the wonderful colourful world of Pierre Charpin at MAC’s Grand Hornu. Pierre Charpin was trained in visual art but has been working in the design field for 20 years. He has been edited by prestigious brands such as Alessi, Ligne Roset, Zanotta… His work is all about colour and form, the objects he designs are beautiful, simple and practical.
As you enter the space you are hit by a coral colour matt floor. Different areas present his objects, with here and there some intruders: abstract black shapes, a piece of cole (the museum is estabished in an ancient mine site), a walking stick… We admire his line drawings and colour research.
